Catalina Island experience + Altos de Chavón + Snorkeling at the wall

Catalina island is about 9.6 square kilometers in size, and is a diverse preservation of eco-systems including sand dunes, mangroves, and reefs. Formed out of coral stone, the island contains three overlapping plateaus. The highest elevation on the island is only 60 feet above sea level. The seas around the Island are rich in wildlife, with many species of birds and tropical marine fish, with a large area where natural sandbars offshore bring the depth to just a few feet.

This full day excursion start leaving the resort and going to La Romana province, where you will pick up a beautiful catamaran. While dancing on the way to the Island and experiencing different Dominican’s rhythms we’ll get to the amazing and one of the biggest coral reef of the Caribbean named “the wall” with an average of tenth of kilometres of different marine life such as: seahorses, sergeant major, damselfish, squirrelfish, stingrays colorful Fish, sponges etc.
Then hitting the Island we are going to have a delicious barbeque lunch with open bar. Take advantage while lie down at the Island having suntan and staying an estimated time of 2 1/2 hours aprox, doing free snorkeling with all the equipment provided. Taking off the island about 3:00pm we will go to the amazing artist village “Altos De Chavón”, which is a Sculpted entirely village of stone,  who sits 300 feet above the Chavón River. Built over a period of six years, and opened in 1982 with Frank Sinatra performing live at the 5,000-seat Grecian style outdoor amphitheater, where numerous world artists have since performed.
